COMPANY HISTORY

Sonco Pools is a company with deep roots in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Founders Gary Peterson and Anthony Arco started Sonco Pools and Spas in the early 1980's. The Arco and Peterson families were neighbors and friends. The first inground pool Sonco built was constructed in Anthony's backyard.

Building Anthony's inground pool by hand took most of the summer. Anthony and Gary researched how to build an inground pool with the help of books and other installers advice. The backyard pool they created was our favorite family gathering place for many years. I can recall spending every summer in the pool at Anthony's. Our families enjoyed grilling, swimming and relaxing every weekend.

After the pool was completed, many neighbors and friends would visit the pool and comment on the beauty and quality craftsmanship of the backyard paradise. Sonco Pools began with our desire to help these individuals build their own backyard oasis.

The name "Sonco" was created by combining the last names of the founders, Peter(son) and Ar(co). The sun in our logo fit the summer fun theme. Sonco started building pools for neighbors and friends in the early 1980's.

Our unmatched attention to detail and the highest level of integrity propelled Sonco into America's Top 10 Pool Builders/Retailers in 2003. The industries top trade magazine, Pool and Spa News, rated Sonco Pools and Spas the #3 Package Pool Builder in America. This honor fills the hearts of the entire company. Sonco is proud to be America's premiere builder.

Today, Sonco has over 40 employees in Five convenient retail locations. Each location offers more than just quality pool construction. We also offer the industry's top-selling spas, gazebos, tanning beds, pool equipment, water testing and service.
